Arundhati Holme-Chowdhury is a voice of the golden age of Bengali music.

She shot to fame in the early 1980s with her song "Phagun Ke Daaklaam" — one of Salil Chowdhury's finest creations.

Over the years, she has sung a large number of exquisite songs, with a voice full of expression and warmth.

Early in his career, Sibaji Chattopadhyay set out as a clone of Hemanta Mukherjee. However, afterward, he found his niche as an singer with his own identity, characterized by a deep, warm voice. He gained popularity as a Rabindra Sangeet singer and recorded songs for many composers in Bengal.

Shibaji ChattopadhyaaySalil Chowdhury had him sing playback for the film Mahabharoti, and had him record a few solo songs, and a few duets with his wife Arundhati Holme-Chowdhury. His solo "Jakhon Ashajjho Hoi" and that unforgettable duet "Aar Ki Bolbo Bolbaar Kathaa Shesh Hoye Gyalo" with Arundhati are wonderful songs that are deservingly popular.
