If you are interested in having your girl child participate in the Kumari Puja, you will need to contact Aparna Saha no later than Wednesday, October 9 to register the child's name (First-come, first served only). Here is her contact information:

Here are some guidelines and requirements:

• The Kumari (girl between the ages of 5 through 9 years) needs to be dressed as a bride, wearing a sari, mukut, alta, and veil (ordhna), with a flower garland around her neck.


• Must arrive at the venue (with a parent), on the day of the Kumari Puja (Saturday, Oct 17), no later than 10:30 AM.


• The following items must be brought to the venue of the Puja on the day of Kumari Puja:
• Plate
• Glass
• Flowers
• A small sitting stool and a cloth to cover it
• Fruit
• Sweets (mishti)
• Dakhshina (in coins only)
