Ethics, Code of Conduct...Being Responsible!

Dear Community Members,

We appreciate the support we get from you year after year.  Your support comes not only financially, in ideas and with your volunteerism, but also in your implicit actions to take responsibility for keeping the event and venue safe, healthy, clean and enjoyable for everyone  We already know that the vast majority of you follow the guidelines below anyway, but we feel it is good to reiterate to everyone.

Schools are there for the benefit of the young students.  As such, they pose stricter regulations than other venues.  Please help us abide by all the rules, and thereby guarantee that the school will be willing to collaborate with our community in future years.

1. Smoking (includes e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited within the entire campus boundary, including the parking lots.

2. Alcoholic consumption is strictly prohibited within the entire campus, including the parking lots. Any violation will lead to severe punishment/penalty.

3. Food and drinks will be served and consumed only within the cafeteria, and cannot be taken to halls or the auditorium.

4. Cleanliness - In addition to attending to cleanliness for our own enjoyment, we should remember that we all represent the entire Bengali community to school authorities.  Please pay attention to:

  • After meals, please clean tables and dispose of plates, cups and food in trash cans
  • In case you spill something on the floor, immediately seek help from organizers to clean
  • Use the restrooms responsibly in general, and immediately get the attention from organizers if you see need for cleanup.  Please pay attention to sindoor and makeup stains on bathroom fixtures.

5. Schedule Adherence: Please take a close look into the schedule published for Puja, Food and Cultural programs, as that will be strictly followed.
