If you are interested in having your girl child participate in the Kumari Puja, you will need to contact Aparna Saha no later than Friday, September 30 to register the child's name (First-come, first served only). Here is her contact information:

Here are some guidelines and requirements:

• The Kumari (girl between the ages of 5 through 9 years) needs to be dressed as a bride, wearing a sari, mukut, alta, and veil (ordhna), with a flower garland around her neck.


• Must arrive at the venue (with a parent), on the day of the Kumari Puja (Saturday, Oct 8), no later than 11:00 AM.


• The following items must be brought to the venue of the Puja on the day of Kumari Puja:
• Plate
• Glass
• Flowers
• A small sitting stool and a cloth to cover it
• Fruit
• Sweets (mishti)
• Dakhshina (in coins only)
