    Maa Saraswati is the fountainhead of all learning and art forms.  The festival is celebrated in various ways.  At BADFW, we begin our day with a puja, performed by one of our highly respected member.  This is followed by welcoming parents to sit down with their children, initiate them into writing letters of alphabet, a tradition known as হাতে খড়ি*

    * Items for the Hatekhori…Please bring slate and chalk, or a rule book and pencil, flowers and some mishti for the puja, Dakshina

    অঞ্জলি ও প্রসাদ will commence from noon until Lunch is served.  আরতি will mark the beginning of our evening program.

    This year our evening Cultural Program is celebrated with all our children in mind. You can enjoy our musical and dance segments, individuals and groups, performed by children of ages, ranging from two and a half years to teenagers. The Master of ceremonies will be presented by students of the DFW area.  There will be a post-dinner show by our own local band.  You cannot miss!

    At BADFW, we are proud of celebrating this auspicious occasion by surrounding ourselves with numerous events of art, music and dance. Many of the activities include an afternoon of Antakshari and our annual Children’s Art Competition.


    The BADFW Saraswati Pujo Antakshari is back by popular demand! Do you have friends who are passionate about music just like you are? Reach out to them NOW, ‘coz they are your perfect Antakshari team mates! Did we mention, we have exciting new rounds and prizes too!

    Kids’ Art Competition!

    The children’s art competition is back at the BA-DFW Saraswati Pujo. This year, we are going with a broad theme of Spring.
    Artists aged 16 or under can choose their medium of choice. Art Minimum dimension 8” x 11”and maximum 18” x 24”.
    Group 1: (Aged 3-6 yrs) – Draw anything.
    Group 2: (Aged 7-9 yrs) – Draw, paint or create any craft with the Spring theme.
    Group 3: (Aged 10-12 yrs) – Draw, paint or create a craft with the Spring theme.
    Group 4: (Aged 13-16 yrs) – Draw, paint or sculpt a creation based on a Spring theme
    Make your masterpiece at home and bring it to the Saraswati Puja venue at the DFW Temple (Cultural Hall). Submissions will be accepted until 1:30 pm on the day of Saraswati Puja. Please note that if anyone wants to submit an artwork just for the exhibition and not take part in the competition, we would love to display them.
